Shadowchild is a demon, which means ze has the power to sense and eat shadows. Shadows are canonically really vague - they're basically generic "not-good-things", from nausea to guilt to weird god-possession to being really old and stinky. But because they're so vague, I can have Shadowchild basically be able to sense whatever you want them to -- or don't want them to.
So! If Shadowchild looks at the shadows on your heart (or stomach, or liver), what will ze see, if anything?

ahim is the survivor of a near-complete destruction of her planet, and suffers some guilt from that! she's avenged her parents and her planet on their attacker so she's not covered with it any more, but some still certainly exists. :)

gentaro is gentaro. ze'll see very little, most of it related to not feeling like a good enough hero.

Rhyme's shadows, if any, are really tiny amounts of nervousness for the future, regret over leaving her home, and missing the shit out of her brother. They would have been much bigger before, but CHARACTER GROWTH.

Kyubey either has a total lack of shadows or is a shadow himself - that is, if Shadowchild can even see Kyubey. Maybe ze can't and ze just sees an ambulatory mass of shadow?

Ze might see a very small shadow for Bertie with the guilt about dying. Other than that, he doesn't have much in the way of 'not good things' to sense.

Madame has a lot of shadows. Guilt about people like Jake and Sollux. Hate toward her master and Kaoru. Jealousy and anger toward Cassandra. The magical curse she's under for her leg. Fear and hate toward the Highblood and Gamzee (troll). Uh... just ping me if there's something else specific because, like I said, there's a lot.

Ha ha ha.

Archer is 100% contaminated by a curse consisting of "all the evils in the world." Additionally, this contamination means he has to constantly suppress a sense of rage and hatred, all on top of his usual bitterness and cynicism.

Murai's still got the big ol' "malignant goddess" shaped splotch right smack dab in the middle of her mind.

She's probably also got a few more minor personal shadows than last time Shadow saw her - uncertainty, a little emotional fatigue and grief, that sort of thing. Nothing earth-shattering, but she's been through some shit in the last year.

ReplicaRiku's a walking pile of clone blues and darkness and inferiority complexes, so have a party there.

Joshua for the most part will just be anxious to finish the game and get back to his district. There might be more than that, but I won't really know until he gets settled in-game.

Ooooh Boy. Saionji is a whole mess of issues. He feels guilty about being abusive, and feels to some degree that his mother's abandonment of him was his fault. He has anger issues along with a broad, hanging self-hatred. He still feels envious and angry with his best friend from back home. He is also jealous of most of the more powerful people in the incipisphere. He fears dying and the death of others. He'll basically be a giant walking cloud of shadows. But hey, when he joined he didn't feel guilty about beating his girlfriend at all, so that's something.

And Mamoru is mostly fine, though there is the hanging guilt over going evil and trying to kill his girlfriend, and whatever shadow comes from having died and reincarnated.

final_summoner: Yuna whistling over the ocean (Whistle)
From: [personal profile] final_summoner
Yuna has some shadows, but they're fairly on the surface - guilt about not being to help everyone, worry about friends, missing her family back home, that kind of thing. Then of course there's also a Tidus-shaped-empty-space shadow, but even that is starting to fade into the background.

Zhosma, otoh, has a whole mess of little shadows that are getting kind of heavy in combination - lots of guilts and griefs and sorrows and helplessnesses. Some of them are rooted deeper than others, but they're all kind of starting to ooze together ominously.

Oh boy, Ed's shadows.

Other then your standard mortal shadows Ed has the one from his attempt at human transmutation. Thats a huge ball of slef loathing, rage, shame, and terror for his brother. And he feeds it- purposefully tending to it like its the only thing keeping him alive.

Ed's greatest fear is of forgetting his mistakes.

Lafiel is starting to wonder if she'll ever make it home, and it's preventing her from working as hard in the game as she could.

She's also very ruthless when she needs to be, and has a bit of a temper. She's rather disdainful towards most of the indigos in this game, and loathes the Highblood. Also the Horrorterrors, but...

Steph's shadows are fairly typical - some guilt, worry and anger in lots of different directions. Recently a lot of fear of losing and HTs on top of the usual clown fear.

Remus is a bundle of anxieties with a big old wolf shadow on top.

Draco's shadows are worries about whether or not he has a moral compass, and then worries about immoral things he's done that harm people he actually gives a shit about.

Mulder has guilt about the abduction of his sister and his continued inability to find her or do anything to uncover the truth for many people who turn to him for help. He also worries that there are forces moving against him that he won't be able to oppose.

wow does glados ever have some shadows for shadowchild

not that she's going to want zem to eat them. 1) Murders everywhere look at all those murders, 2) what the heck even was that whole deal with chell, 3) Caroline is definitely still alive in there somewhere, if you can call a degrading consciousness trapped in the depths of a murderous robot "alive"

those are the biggest ones but she's probably got a bunch of smaller ones just by virtue of being an awful person and loving it

Ryusei has the smaller shadows of my two muses. He still feels guilt for Gentaro's death, but over time he's made peace with that and is starting to make as much peace with how much he screwed over his other friends as he can without them here. He is rightfully always going to feel responsible for that whole fiasco, and as his nature he's never going to feel he can exactly make up for what he did, but it's no longer the crushing guilt from when he entered and he's more focused on the future now.

He is feeling guilt for not being more competent, from stuff with modifying Fourze to the fact they're still here. How little he feels he's done for that and how slow he feels he's helping his consorts bothers him. The consorts, of which a vast majority are asleep now thanks to his Denizen, is an especially strong point of guilt.

He feels anger over the recent fiasco with Sollux and those involved, much of those tying into projecting stuff from his situation back home. He also feels disgust for Saionji but that's more a low simmer thing these days of someone failing to meet an already low expectation.

Ryusei in general is also someone quick to anger, and to lie. He doesn't feel too guilty about either fact, just at times frustrated for not playing his hand better. He's also still amazed he's made it this long with no one finding out his Title and is more than a little bit worried about what will happen if that comes to light. Oddly enough he's not that worried about being Gentaro's murderer coming up since Saionji has failed to share anything yet.

..These are still compartivly smaller than Jake's, I can just ramble on forever :|

let me tell you about Dante's shadow
Dante's shadow is his demon half. This is not an exaggeration, you literally fight it in the game I took him from. It currently sort of scares him, because he's seen what his brother did with his demon half, and he doesn't like it. Not that he'd ever admit to being afraid of it. Basically, this means that Dante's shadow, for this purpose, is a malicious hellbeast that looks kind of like he does, but has no aims or goals beyond actual, pure violence.

Have fun. :3
